The Internal Emergency Door Release project was instigated by RailCorp in response to a directive by the Waterfall Commission.

Ingenova played key role in implementing the pilot system on Milennium trains and undertaking a series of field trials to measure and refine the human factors that occur when humans, trains and emergencies all mix together.

Ingenova also tested for and identified several single points of vulnerability in the system as designed back then and recommended several improvements to the design to ensure the risk to passengers and crew was as low as reasonable practical.

Ingenova also designed the artwork for emergency procedure signage for the OSCAR, Milennium, Tangara and Waratah trains using 3D modelling software (Google Sketch with CorelDRAW!).
